4 days to Sri Lanka

It's only 4 days left before I'm leaving for Sri Lanka...

It's been madness the past week...just kept spending all my time in between the chemistry lab...and the med chem lab in pharmacy...

Now Prof Go wants me to start work on my thesis project...slightly more than a week b4 my departure and suddenly I have more work??!!! Oh well...
I'll be working on this project in collaboration with Patrick J. Casey...from Duke University Medical Center...he's also involved in the NUS graduate medical school!! Wah so exciting...gonna be stressful though :S
Anyway, I'll be working on a new target for anticancer therapy...will start off with some computational work...

Then there's my assignment for the "advanced" organic synthesis module I'm taking now...it's 60% of the final grade!!! Just got it yesterday...damn...supposed to be given to us a week ago!!! Have been working on it all day...at least since it's personalized...it's related to my thesis project ;D

So the whole of this week...the only exercise I had was from the tennis training I went for on Thur...supposed to have participated in the Inter Faculty Games for swimmming...400m and 800m free...but was stuck in lab trying to finish my work both days...damn...

This morning I was thinking of gg Ang Mo Kio Town Garden for Unity's nature walk...but alas...I was too lazy...and there's too much work waiting for me to finish....

Tomorrow working at HBF...before that...meeting up with team Chelonia...hehe...they gg Underwater World after that...I dun get to go :(

Overnight camp at Ubin

Got to Changi Jetty at almost 5pm...after a super long walk...was super hungry then...last meal I had was bfast at abt 8am!!! Wah...

Bought myself some snacks and a drink...then went to the carpark outside PA seasports club to look for Ryal, Jacqueline and Merey...my hands were already full...hehe...so din help them carry stuff :P
From there we went to meet up with the rest of the team members at the Changi Village market...met Ranmali...our Sri Lankan fren!!

Oh ya..did I mentioned we are having a Sri Lankan immersion weekend camp...hehe...that's how Merey put it...'cos we are there to learn some Singhala words from Ranmali and also get to know more about their culture...the "do"s and "don't"s :D

We took the bumboat over to Ubin...my second time...or rather third time in the sea on Sat...if I include the swimming part...hehe...it was a pretty quick ride...

Group photo on the bumboat...Hang Chong looks damn cute in that huge shirt...haha

When we reached there, we splitted into 2 groups...one grp when to buy dinner for the rest...err...dunno wat the other grp did leh...guess u know which grp I'm in lah...I was hungry lah :P

Wah...they took damn long to cook man!!! Thought we can save time by packing our dinner...in the end we spent so much time waiting in the coffee shop...both grps were there by the time the food was ready...no time to walk to our camp site liao...so we got the van to come pick us up...

It would have been a pretty long but nice walk to our camp site...oh well...take van faster lah...me hungry liao...hehe :P
At the camp site, we put down our stuff and immediately pitch the tents...Jasmine and I went to tie our hammock first...under the coconut trees...dangerous or not, huh? There was actually a coconut that dropped from one of the trees when we were having dinner...hehe...well...I'm still alive and well to tell my story...so nothing happened...haha ;D

Learnt some things while pitching the tents...lesson no. 1 of that day....logo always face the front...haha...
We had 3 tents...looks pretty hot in the tent...I shall sleep in the hammock...hehe

After that, we had our dinner...me had salted fish fried rice...told aunty not to put taugeh liao...she still put...nvm...not a lot...shall pick them out ;P
During dinner, our discussion some how ended up with how many time we actually say the word "actually"...haha...from America's Next Top Model...I din watch that episode though...fell asleep rather early that day...

After dinner, we decided to put up our lanterns...er...or did we put up the lantern before dinner? Can't rem liao...hunger makes me forget everything...
Anyway, we then proceed to our nicely laid out ground sheets for our Singhala language class with Ranmali...

The first word we learnt was "Ayubowan"...hehe...pronounced like.."are u bowan"..."No, I'm Penguin"...we are really naughty hor...
Anyway, we had a lot of fun learning from Ranmali...hehe...I'm sure she had a lot of fun with us too :D
Ranmali even helped us write our names in Singhalese characters...I shall try to reproduce it and put it up on the blog...one fine day...hehe

After our language lesson, we took a break...eating mooncake...some exotic flavors...hehe...got chocolate, durian etc...

We also moonwatched during the break...Hang Chong brought the telescope...it's his fren's

Then we split into 2 groups for some role play...Merey is our victim...then each group is supposed to..err..sort of..counsel her...my group was supposed to be the negative demo...haha...damn funny...we kept talking abt money can do everything...we can provide money etc...dman jialat...

Anyway, after that, we discussed abt our trip...the main things we'll be doing there are for turtle conservation purposes...to help them with alternative means of earning a living as they r currently selling turtle eggs for a living!!!

A summary of wat we plan to do there...
(1) help them with nature guiding training,
(2) help refurbish the community library e.g. exhibits on conservation work
(3) introduce coastal clean ups a lot of the "rubbish" there such as unwanted fishing nets, plastic bags, styrofoams can kill the marine life including the turtles...besides...it also help the turtles to find a suitable spot to lay their eggs...the turtles might just leave the beach if they can't find any suitable spot
(4) IDP camp/school visits...we'll have activities mainly targetted at the children

Of course...not everything we planned will definitely be carried out there...there'll always be hiccups...minor or major...we won't know until we reach there...so wish us luck!!! ;)

By the time we finished our discussion...it was past midnight...everyone went to wash up...then San San and I slept in our hammock...while the rest slept in the tents...at least in the beginning...apparently most of them came out after a while 'cos it's too hot in there!! I slept like a pig...till 4.45am...when everyone seem to be up liao...hehe

Took turns to wash up...had bfast...then packed up and proceeded for our nature walk...
Wah...luck was not on our side...it started raining not long after...luckily we decided to take shelter rather than continuing with the walk...when we reached the shelter...it started pouring damn heavily...I was damn cold man...and all our stuff were not with us...
We ended up chatting under the shelter until the van came back to pick us up...
We had bfast...again...at one of the coffee shops...
By the time we are finishied, the rain seem to have stopped!! We decided to go check out the sensory trail...specially designed for the visually disabled...it's really interesting...but there were a lot of mosquitoes there...hehe...so we had to make or own insect repellent...from the citronella plant...hehe...so fun!!!

After the sensory trail, we went to the visitor center...as usual...

One last group photo before we left...since it rained while we were at Chek Jawa...had to take photo in front of the Check Jawa mural...hehe

From the visitor center we saw 3 hornbills that were feeding on figs...according to Hang Chong, our bird lover...he has never seen the hornbills so closed up before...wow...so cool...we got to see it!!!

Check out the closed up photo of the hornbill eating figs!!

After that, it's time to leave...I'm rather stoned by then...but we decided to go visit the Changi Prison as it's part of the World War II specials...can go collect commerative pins...

Hmm...but when we arrived...found out that gotta pay to take their guided tour to be able to collect the pin...aiya...forget it lah...
In the end, one of the nice lady working there gave us one of her own as they are given a few for free ;D

Then, it's time for me to go home and sleep...but first...gotta give Soon Tat a call...hehe...asked him to give me wake up call b4 he leave TPY2...scared I oversleep...then no one cover the pharmacy at night...hee...yup...I was supposed to work that night...630-10pm ;P

That night at the pharmacy...I saw this ang mo lady wearing the desaru tri t-shirt into the pharmacy...hehe...she was looking for bonjela...apparently she bit her own tongue when someone kicked her while she was swimming....hmmm...did I kick her? oops...well...it's business strategy...injure ur customer when they can't identify u...then later they'll come to ur pharmacy to buy something for their injury?? haha...starting to talk rubbish...it's time to sleep...zzzzzz

Desaru International Triathlon

Another crazy weekend...

Spend all day in the Lear's laboratory...hehe...the whole week...been doing synthetic work all the time since I started my rotation at Dr Martin Lear's lab...sooooo busy!!!

Went for a swim early in the morning on Thur since I know Santosh won't come in so early and I can't get into the lab w/o his transponder....hehe...swam 1k only....haven't swam for so long...gotta swim at least once b4 the triathlon :P

Fri nite I worked at JRP...till 10pm...got home at almost 11pm...packed up my stuff for the triathlon in Desaru and the overnight camp at Ubin...slept at abt 11.45pm...

3.30am....the alarm started ringing!!! Ah...gotta wake so damn early...TLR coming to pick me up at 4am...I slept most of the way in the car...was damn shack...
We took abt 2.5hrs to get to Desaru even though it was a slow drive...no jam at that time of the day :D

Had buffet bfast at the hotel...RM21...din really eat much 'cos can't be way too full before the swim which will start in 2.5hrs time!! Was really tempted to eat the nasi lemak...but spicy food and race just dun go together :(

After bfast, TLR and his parents, Fd and I went to the beach to rest...TLR must be damn shacked liao...wake up so early and been up driving all the way...nvm...he still have at least 3-4hrs of rest, after I start swimming, before he has to run...hehe

At abt 9am, I decided to go change into my swimming costume...then ard 9.15am we went for the briefing at the swim start...the guy who was supposed to brief us was just shouting w/o any loudspeaker...he kept asking us to keep quiet...wah lau...use loudspeaker lah :P

Anyway, I'm supposed to swim clockwise x 2 laps...that's 2km altogether...Vicky was there as usual...said hi to her...and when I turned to walk away...had a video cam in my face...hehe...said hi to the video cam...wonder if I was on tv??!!

At 10am, the race was started off...wah...so many ppl...how to swim...the first 2-300m was spent trying to "siam" ppl...but after the first turning...the swim was a lot more pleasant...still got some irritating ppl who will keep touching ur feet as the swim...touch once not enough meh...think I must have kicked some of those ppl when I tried to kick hard so that I can open up our distance...hehe...too bad :P

Oh did I mentioned that the water there was so much nicer than the water here...be it Sentosa or ECP...I can actually see the seabed abt 100-200m out into the sea!!
When I first saw the seabed on my way back during the first lap...I thought I must be pretty near liao...but I was wrong!!! Haha...

Anyway, my first lap was a more relaxed swim...the second lap I started to speed up...it's easier to swim then as all the participants have spread out...
Tried to sprint all the way during the last 200m...wah...damn shack...came out of the water...TLR was there cheering on...
I still had to run another 100-200m to the transition area...and the path is not even carpetted...but somehow it's not as bad as the NUS tri one...hehe...had a very nice, powerful shower on my way to the transition area...saw Fd there taking photo :D

Reached the transition area...passed the pink rubber band to Uncle Johari...and off he went!! Hmm...I'm rather blind now...where's Fd and TLR?...decided to walk back and see I'll find them or not...had another shower...hehe...but cannot find Fd or TLR...so walk back to transition area...showered again!! So nice!! Found them at the grass patch near the transition area lah...

Put on my shades...hehe...not blind liao...then put on my t-shirt...hang ard...take photos ;) Then we went to the road side to wait for our cyclist, Uncle Jo...
He finished his first lap in approx 45 mins...then I went off for a shower in TLR's fren's (hehe...forgot his name liao) room :)
Wah...the rooms here are difficult to find leh...spent abt 5-10 mins walking ard looking for the room...hehe...somehow I missed it...ended up asking one of the staff there where it is when I was already very near...hehe...so paiseh :P

Had a quick shower...then I was back out waiting for Uncle Jo to finish his second lap...chat with some of the Singaporean supporters while waiting...
The commentator was pretty "naughty"...keep telling the participants they have a long way to go...wah...discouraging leh...but there was this Jap gal who felt like she was gg to faint when she finished the second round...the commentator actually stopped to help that gal...in the end, she still managed to finish the 3rd lap...dunno wat happened during her run as I left early...

After Uncle Jo passed by...I went to check out the Brooks apparel...bought a nice purple ladies top for S$16 :D
Then I went back to the grass patch to stone...hehe...expecting Uncle Jo to be back in abt 30 mins...but there was no sign of him after 45 min!! Wat happened??!! He had a very bad cramp...think he took almost 1hr30mins to finish the last lap...he must have drank too much plain water...
With the scorching sun and no isotonic drinks provided...wah...he must have suffered badly in his last lap...

Off went TLR for his second half marathon in a week...hehe...the last one is on Sun...so it's within 7 days :P
He have to go 2 laps of approximately 10km...in the scorching sun...very very different from AHM hor...
Fd and I went to wait for him and passed him a bottle of water...Fd was wondering whether the bottle will ever come back...well...we learnt that if u want back ur bottle...gotta jog with the person till he finish drinking...otherwise...forget it...hehe

Check it out...proof of Fd passing water to TLR...hehe

After that, I really had to leave liao...gotta get to Changi Jetty by 5pm as I'm gg for an overnight camp with my YEP team mates at Pulau Ubin...
Went to check with the hotel staff whether there are any shuttle buses to the ferry terminal...alas...the bus has left...ferry is at 3.30pm and it's 2.40pm now...gotta get TLR's parents to fetch me to the ferry terminal...the staff said...just drive straight down to the Petronas station, turn left...another 10km...then u'll see the sign...doesn't sound too far lah hor...

Wah I was wrong!!! Firstly, the straight road to Petronas was pretty far liao...took quite long partly because a lot of ppl still running...saw TLR on his way back!! hehe
Then after the 10km...we saw the sign...it says it's another 10 plus km to Tg Belungkor where the ferry terminal is!!! wah...jialat...
Finally we got there at 3.20pm....phew...managed to buy my ticket...said bye to Uncle and aunty...so paiseh...make them drive me out so far...then I boarded the ferry...

The ferry ride was only abt 30 mins...quite fast hor...but Changi Ferry Terminal is so isolated...only got those Mercedes taxis waiting there...luckily I brought along my streetdirectory...I walked along Changi Coast Road...under the scorching sun...wah liao...damn hot...carrying so many things somemore!!! Wonder how far I walked before I found the first bus stop...took a bus down 2-3 stops...then walked again to Changi village...shack man..

Finally I met up with my YEP team mates...

(to be continued...Overnight camp at Ubin)

O2 XDA II mini

My new phone!!! Yippee...I have finally got it...

Bus on a rainy day?

NEVER take bus on a rainy day if u can take the MRT!!!
Thought I learnt my lesson liao...
BUT...I had to take the bus home yesterday even though it rained...thought it's more convenient...one bus all the way...versus take bus to MRT station, then MRT all the way...end up taking abt 1hr20mins to get home instead of the usual 40-50 mins...jam all the way...along Clementi Rd...along Bukit Timah...then again on PIE...so IRRITATING!!!

Army Half Marathon

My first 21km!!! Really my first...never even trained for it!!...Furthest I have run before this is probably ard 12km...hehe...I'm a slacker...wat can I say?
Thinking of starting a group with Evan, Jayce and Elaine...haha...specially for slackers who participate in many races...but hardly train for them :P Anyone else wanna join us??

Anyway, today I woke up at 4am...slept at abt 9pm last night...had plenty of sleep finally...after a hectic week...
Had breakfast, packed up with all the stuff for work, then walked to CTE to wait for kops21 to pick me up :) Thanks, kops21 :D

Got to the padang at abt 5am...deposited my bag at the baggage deposit since I have to leave early...then kops21, his colleague, Francis, and I went to meet up with the other sgrunners...Carine wasn't ard....found out later in the forum that she was not well...so sad :(
hope u get well soon, Carine :)

At almost 5.30am, Brokenrunner and I decided to release some extra fluid in our body...no queue at the toilets for ladies...hehe...so cool!!! Guys queue was so so so long!!! After that, we started heading towards the starting line...somehow we lost TLR and the others pretty fast...it was left with Brokenrunner, Alvo, Alvo's fren? and I...we squeezed thru many ppl to get very near the starting line...it's always good to start in front...less road block...hehe...we got in front just in time for us to be flagged off...

For the first 4km or so...I was following Brokenrunner's pace...but after abt 4km, while we were on Benjamin Sheares' Bridge...I started to slow down...or maybe Brokenrunner sped up? Anyway, she started to get further and further from me...hehe...never mind...just run at watever pace I'm comfortable with :) Saw Brokenrunner again near the U-turn...think she was 3-400m ahead of me...not bad...I'm still not too slow...hehe...
I was actually very excited when I saw the "U-turn 300m ahead" sign...but it sure was a long 300m!!!...until I saw Brokenrunner...shall try to keep my distance behind her :)
Reached the 10km mark at abt 58 mins...still under 1 hour...yay...sure can finish race in 2 hr 30 mins liao lah!!!

After that it's just run run run, drink drink drink...along the way, quite a number of ppl overtook me, I also overtook quite a lot of ppl...
Met quite a number of frens who came from behind...hehe...Kok Seng (previously from SGH...my Buddy during my pre-reg training in SGH), Gabriel Tay (ex-Kentridgean), Evan (suddenly "jiayou" behind me...hehe), Commando (sgrunners)...and many more...can't rem at the moment...will add when I rem :D Kops21 din creep up on me this time...he must have been in front of me all the while? what happened to being last man??!!!
Anyway, I also met TLR's boss/swimmer for NB aquathlon at the goodie bag collection...hehe...

After the race, Fd appeared...oh ya...did I mentioned Meteor came at 5 plus when her 12km race was at 8am!!! She was our temp jaga cum photographer...hehe
Fd...long time no see...nvm...will see u again this sat rite? Desaru!!
I got my goodie bag, collected my bag from the baggage deposit...then went back to hang out with the sgrunners...until I have to leave for work :(

Paid for my t-shirt, collected the sgrunners' t-shirt!! Sold some turtle stickers...SAVE THE TURTLES!!! Took some photos...then I left with Evan to go find Jayce and Elaine...apparently they started late...that's why come back so late...
Walked with them to Raffles City...then took train to Toa Payoh liao...

Met Chang Chern at the MRT station...hehe..he's supposed to run with Kok Seng...but both of them late...somehow din managed to meet up...
Anyway, he's gg back home first...later will probably see him again when he comes to work...take over me...help drag me out of the chair if my leg has gone too stiff to move...hehe :)

Forgot to mention my timing...approx 2:06...way ahead of the 2:30 I targetted for myself...yay...so excited!! But will I do such long distance race again...hmm...I slack lah...maybe will do shorter distance next time :) Or just stick to aquathlon/triathlon...be swimmer for team Beyond Boundaries...alternatively form team with Jayce and Elaine for women's event if there is...hehe...good chance of winning something ;)

Busy week? Lab, YEP, work...

Yup...it's definitely been a very very busy week today...wake up at 6am everyday...then get home past 10pm from Mon to Thur...

Din exercise at all...no run, no swim, no cycle...only exercise I get is through walking from lab to lab...or bus stop to home abt 5-10mins...haha :P

Its madness!!! Busy with my 2nd lab rotation doing organic synthesis...cannot slack liao...hehe...everyday gotta be in the lab...playing with chemicals!! Hehe...but I think my supervisor din expect me to be doing so much leh...he was quite surprised that I have got quite a lot done when he saw me on Fri...the postgrad, Santosh, and honours year student, Yee Swan, has been helping me a lot and getting me to do a lot of reactions...hehe...hopefully I can finish earlier and get my report out earlier since I have to leave for Sri Lanka soon...

Oh ya..Sri Lanka turtle conservation project...that's another reason for the busy week...been arrowed to be expedition nurse and also was i/c to liase with organizer for the International Coastal Clean-up Singapore(ICCS)...since organizer is from NUS...
So I have been busy with first aid stuff...vaccination for the team...getting contact list for the ICCS and first aid purpose...doesn't seem difficult for a team of 11 but some ppl just take ages to reply...and I'm still waiting for one guy to reply after one week!!! No response to email, SMS or even phone call!!! Irritating!

Yesterday, 8 of us met up for the ICCS at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve...hehe...I think we were the most troublesome group of 8...met at difference places to take bus...but yet wanna for two groups among ourselves...then after that...never attend their safety briefing...took so long to put our barang-barang in Merey (one of our expedition leaders) car...hehe...not too mentioned we signed up for this event so late...I had to bother the organizer so much...oops...
We picked up quite a lot of thrash there though...just hanged out at one small area...just above the strand line (Hang Chong...our other expedition leader who has been to other coastal clean ups...told us abt the strand line thingy)...it's where all the rubbish were pushed to during high tide and get stranded there during low tide...there's so much rubbish there...plenty of styrofoams (one of the major marine life killer), straws, food wrappers, plastic sheets/bags (another major marine life killer), fishing nets (marine life trap)...there are also quite a lot of bottles, cigarette lighters (stop smoking ppl!!...come get nicotine replacement therapy from me if u need...hehe), and an assortment of other stuff like light bulb, hanger, footwear etc etc...
After abt 2 hours there we haven't even clear up all the rubbish from that relatively small area...partly because we had to do some data collection, so we had to record wat we have collected...
After the clean up, we went to clean ourselves up at the visitor center...a short tour of the visitor center...then off to lunch at Marsiling...all squeeze in Merey's car...haha 8 of us!!! We actually spend quite a bit of time deciding where to eat when we were in the car...siao man...so squeezy still can keep changing our minds and go further and further...
Anyway, it was good thing we ended up at Marsiling...'cos we saw this very injured cat straying in the carpark...Zul spotted it first...he called SPCA to get someone to come pick up the cat...it took quite a while for them to arrive but since we were having lunch and also a short discussion...it was just nice :D Apparently we found out from the kopitiam uncle that the cat's been injured for months...due to fights with other cats...

Now I'm selling turle stickers...anyone interested? It's S$1 per sticker or $5 for a sheet of 6 big stickers and 2 small ones :) I'll take some photos of the stickers and post it on the blog later :)

Reason no. 3 for my busy week....work work and work...hehe...work 3 evenings this week...2 of them were last minute call to help cover HLC...

Today I'm at work at TPY...after my tiring run at AHM...sit down and let lactic acid accumulate...

Busy busy day of 3 Sept

Pasir Panjang Heritage Trail

Woke up early to get to Harbourfront to take the shuttle bus to Kent Ridge Park for the Pasir Panjang Heritage Trail with some of my Sri Lanka YEP (aka Project Chelonia) team mate ;) Alamak...got there early 'cos I missed out some of the emails..wasn't aware the meeting time is 830am instead of 8am...decided go walk ard Harbourfront Center...nothing to see at this time actually...hehe...

San San, Jacqueline and I took the shuttle bus together to Kent Ridge Park...the driver brought us to the wrong car park but it was great for me 'cos at least now I have an idea how far I have to walk to get to the nearest bus stop when I have to leave for the aquathlon...quite far leh...

When we got to the right car park...there were some guides and participants of the walk there liao...but no one from our team...hmmm...where's everyone?? Merey came by at abt 9am...then we started out walk w/o Zul who was still on his way...he'll have to catch up with us later...

There were 2 guides leading us...Airani and...oops...forgot the guy's name...
Airani is really chatty and bubbly...hehe...she's really into guiding!! We walked from car park A...towards the pond...then to the board walk...towards Bukit Chandu...where I had to leave liao :( Missed the skit on world war II...

New Balance Aquathlon

On my walk down from Bukit Chandu to the bus stop, I decided to sms Muggs to check on my registration...apparently I'm not registered!!! WAT?!!! Dun tell me I left the trail walk early for nothing!!!

Anyway, decided to go on to Sentosa and see wat's happening...as usual Murphy's Law strike...could take 4 out of 6 buses at that bus stop...but the first THREE buses were those I couldn't take...yup...one of them was a repeat!!! And on the way there...most the traffic lights had to be red...ARRGGHHH...

Finally I got to Siloso Beach...rushed to the registration booth...dunno where are the sgrunner's...no time to go find them and I doubt most of them have h/p with them when the race is starting soon...oh ya...I met Elaine at the bus interchange while waiting for the Sentosa shuttle bus...hehe...she's late too...same wave as me...but she's the runner in a relay with Jayce...

At the registration booth, I explained to them abt my situation...payment made but can't seem to find my name anywhere (just confirmed the payment made from my debit card statement yesterday)...they were actually ready with additional bibs and chips...so at least I can participate and still get proper timing etc...not like some other race I have participated b4 early this year...hehe...

After registration, went into the transition area to get ready for the race...where's Jayce??!! Haha...she's using her lunch time for this race...she'll get here at the last minute...in time to swim and leave b4 her lunch time is up...but unfortunately she din get back in time...hehe...all thanx to the rain!!!

YES...it rained...halfway after my wave started!!! I think my wave is the most affected my the rain...everyone was just swimming halfway...I swam abt 500m when I saw the canoeist asking ppl to leave the water...DAMN! We got out of the water...and I rushed to get my stuff from the transition area which is now soaking wet!!! Then headed to Sapphire Hall where I finally met up with the sgrunners...shld have left my stuff with them...Muggs actually helped to move everyone's stuff into the hall when it started raining :)

We waited and waited...while I was thinking "damn, I rushed here for this??!!!...might as well take my own sweet time...stay on longer at Bukit Chandu"...oh well...u never know...

After a while the rain stopped, the organizers announced that we can either restart the race or discontinue...sianz...obviously we can continue from where we left off...somewhere in the middle of the sea?? Oh ya...we have a wet start for this event...so actually have to tread water before starting...Jayce and I took our own sweet time...wait till they are gg to start us off...then only start swimming towards the starting line...hehe...why waste energy treading water?

The swim here was pretty easy...got floats in the center to guide my direction...so I had a pretty straight swim...not the usual zigzagging when I swim in the sea not able to see which direction I'm able to see...

After I got out of the water I managed to smile to the camera before I run off to the transition area...where took a drink, put on my shorts, singlet, shades, cap, socks and shoes...then my bib...and off I go...it was a pretty slow run with plenty of walking breaks while I'm taking a drink...hehe...slacker...

Finally after 2 rounds of wat the organizer claims to be 5km each but all of us know it can't be...I'm done!! I kept seeing TLR while running...and he was there waiting for us at the finishing...maybe distracted some ppl as the ran towards the u-turn...for a 3rd round?...instead of the finishing line...oops...

After the race, I went to take a shower...hang around for a short while...then headed to SAFRA Mount Faber to collect my AHM race pack with Evan and Elaine...Jayce has gone back to work...very late...she owes her colleagues a meal now...haha...oh ya..Jayce and Elaine got 3rd placings in the women's relay...haha...3rd of 3 teams...next time I shld participate in such category lah...maybe a triathlon, I swim, Jayce cycle, Elaine run :D

After collecting my race pack, I took a bus back to Harbourfront to take train home...decided to have dinner first...went to Subway and found Eunice there too...hehe...had dinner with her ;)

Back home...it's study study study...
At night I decided that I have too much work to do...so din go for Mizuno Wave Run the next morning...just went to collect goodie bag and meet up with sgrunners for a short while ;) haha pay to get the t-shirt only...shld have joined fun run...save money...
