Adventure Trail Challenge

Wow! I'm so tired now...

Had a great time at the Adventure Trail Challenge at MacRitchie today!!!

Woke early again...seems like I wake up earlier on days I dun work...hmmm...
Took a bus to MacRitchie since my bike has been deposited there yesterday...
When I was arriving at MacRitchie, it started raining heavily...oh man...
Anyway, when the rain got less heavy I started running to Carpark B where we're supposed to report...after reporting, Jon (my partner) and I...team Penguin...had our gear checked, body marked and changed into the event singlet...then we packed our extra gears and left it with the organizers...

Team Penguin's personalized iWorks card...cool rite...and mascot ;)

The race started half an hour late due to the rain...
We started off the running leg near the zig zag bridge...we ran along the "Hydrapak" marked trail...south of the reservoir...through SICC...towards Bukit Timah Hill...
Check point 1 was at the top of a 4-5 storey structure!!!

Started the cycling route at Rifles Range Rd (Check point 2) which was very hilly...thank god Jon and I went for the Raleigh Hill Challenge recently...
We cycled towards the cycling trail around Bukit Timah Hill (Check point 3,4)...then back to Rifles Range Rd (Check point 5...yay..we made it for the cut off) where we dropped off our bikes and started on foot again...this time walking most of the time..hehe...since we won't be cut off anymore...

We walked (occasionally jogged) back towards MacRitchie Reservoir via a different trail...north of the reservoir..

Our kayaking leg (Check point 6) was, fortunately, a short one around MacRitchie Reservoir...neverthelessmy arms were so tired from the Sea sports camp...occasionally, Jon had to row alone...hehe..

After that we ran out along Thomson Rd and Upper Thomson Rd towards Bishan Fire Station for our abseiling leg (Check point 7)!!!

Then it was backed to MacRitchie carpark B...the end point...where we were greeted by the DJ...Nicholas Tay...how in the world did u end up deejaying for this event!!??? Oh well...it's always nice to meet another Kentridgean ;)

Deejay Nick who kept insisting that unauthorized photography is not allowed...

Ex-Kentridgeans...Jayce, Nick and I ;)

After that, we picked up our belongings, certs and goodie bags...rested for a while...had lunch...yes... a small buffet lunch was provided...cool ;) then, Jon's dad came to pick us up...thank god I dun have to cycle home!!

Phew...what an exciting day!!!
