Chelonia - Day 7 (4 Oct) Shelves building part II

In the morning we had a very long discussion on how to build the shelves such that it's stable, safe and aesthetically pleasing...trying to have better QC today….
Unfortunately at the end of the day we found that the locals were not very pleased with the shelves we built today..
We tried to flush i.e. align the front of the shelves...but that leaves a gap at the back...which might allow insects etc to crawl in...
So, in the end,the lesson learnt was that always engage the locals when u r building things for them!

QC by me...the shelves can definitely take the weight of approx 45kg...err...for a few seconds??

Anyway, the whole of today was just spent on shelves building…built abt 30 shelves today too…even though we have more of us…because we were trying to make better quality shelves…so took a bit longer…
Lunch today was also similar to yesterday….fish, potatoes, dahl and pumpkin…no more yoghurt though…Engwan not ard…went to Colombo…brought Reef along…so no Reef entertainment today…hehe

Highlight of the day was wilson lost the key to the room where we kept our bags! He just had it for 15 mins! Actually, in the end, he found it in his shorts when we reached home! We spent so much time searching for it!

After a whole day of shelves building we had sambal kangkong, potato curry (by aunty Kalyani), herbal chicken soup and spicy garlic prawns for dinner!!! Yummy!
Another nua night…played dai di till quite late ‘cos tomorrow is R&R to Galle…yippee!!!
