Chelonia - Day 8 (5 Oct) R&R day at Galle

Bfast was instant noodle and egg today…
After that, we got ready to leave for Galle

Took an air con bus to Galle... 100 rupees each...
Saw the tsunami affected areas on the way there...there're signs indicating tsunami zones and escape routes...
There r a lot more tsunami destroyed house then in kosgoda...in fact most of the "sea-side" houses has been totally destroyed and wat's left is just a flat piece of land on the "sea-side"...other than the barrier they have built with sand or rock...after the tsunami...
Even the "land-side" houses are partially destroyed...

We saw a train wreck...still on the rail...many ppl in the train were killed by the tsunami...
A new railway had to be built to by-pass that section now...
We also saw a house on the sea...almost an island...that according to the local was not affected by the tsunami!! We later found out that it belongs to an ang moh...who owns a grp of small but high-end hotels in Galle...

Met some S'poreans in a chinese restaurant known as the Chinese Globe...had a drink there...then off we went for a walk ard the city...
Visited this handicraft shop called Laksana...din buy anything there though…then went to the post office to post our postcards...

Reef pooped in his pampers while we were in the post office!!! Merey had to change his diapers there...haha...and Reef kept fussing refusing to have his t-shirt and pampers put on...in the end San San had to put on his t-shirt and Merey his pampers at the same time...*confused*...haha

Had lunch after that...went to this hotel called The Lady Hill which was at the highest point of Galle...had a very breath-taking view from there...can see the fort, a temple in the hill, a ?church, a sitting buddha statue...
It was very cooling there too....we nua there for quite long while merey, san san and reef had lunch at chinese globe restaurant...

After we r finally done nuaing...and Reef done sleeping...we proceeded to the fort...
Walked ard for abt an hour plus..then engwan was here to pick us up...to go to the Unawatuna beach...
Some of us took the tuk tuk as it's quite late for engwan to bring us there in 2 trips...to be in time to see the sunset...

We had a nice swim in the sea...Merey and I swam further out into the ocean hoping to catch the surf...but somehow the surf seem to move to the left and right of us...we din stay there long as it was getting dark liao...

Dinner was western again...similar to lunch...except a lot cheaper...we had a variety which we shared...so much yummy but salty stuff today!!
After that...it's time to get back...it was 10 plus by the time got home...had a quick shower...we had so much sand on us!!
Then...it was dai di...chilled out...zzzzz
