Since it started in 1981, the Terry Fox Run has become the largest single-day fundraising event for cancer research held anywhere in the world. Each year, more and more people around the world respond to Terry’s dream of finding a cure for cancer.

Terry Fox Runs in Singapore
Here in Singapore, the past Terry Fox Runs have been tremendously successful. In the last twelve years, over S$2.7 million has been raised in aid of cancer research. What started as a small event with 300 runners raising awareness and funds for cancer research in 1993 has grown steadily throughout the years. To date, over 70,000 runners have participated in the annual Singapore Terry Fox Run.

A True Story About 2 Sons

An interesting story I got from my dad...hehe

Once, there was a family known as Malaysia. In 1985, they were blessed with their first born, Proton. The family loved Proton all they can. They gave Proton everything. They protected Proton from the bigger boys in Kindergarden. They told Proton, "You're young, you need protection from them. It's okay to make mistakes, you're young. Even if you don't learn from mistakes...it's okay...you are young."

Proton became spoilt. He always depended on parents and used up all his allowance on useless things. When he had to do his chores, he paid people to do it and the work is lousy, causing the parents having to call repairmen to fix all the mess that he made.
Anyway, when Proton was 10 (but he still acted like he is 1 or 2 years old), he had a younger brother, Perodua. At first, everyone thought this younger brother will be like Proton. Anyway, this new baby was more handsome and looks smarter than Proton. Malaysia knew there is a possibilty Perodua could be smarter than Proton. Since they love Proton so much, they decided that Perodua can only learn a few things. Cannot learn the same thing as Proton. This is so that Perodua wouldn't beat Proton at what Proton is doing.
Although Perodua was also protected by Malaysia, he learn to be independent very fast. He made good friends with Daihatsu, who had an elder brother Toyota. The two of them helped Perodua in everything. Perodua, being independent and smart, learnt a lot and in a short while, was becoming as good as, if not better, than Proton.

Malaysia realized that Perodua was becoming better than his brother. Although proud of Perodua, they still love Proton best. They paid Lotus (which is older and well known worldwide) to be friends with Proton. Using this advantage, Proton mentioned Lotus everytime he wanted to tell people about himself. On this own, he was still the same.
Moreover, Proton is always not updated. When doing his work, he still uses the typewriter and refuses to use the computer. Perodua, so much younger, used the computer, with broadband for his work. Perodua was improving so much that Toyota has assigned him with his work, codename Avanza 2005.
Proton is 20 years old, Perodua only 10. It was obvious that Perodua was the more successful of the two siblings. What is worse, Proton said he still need his parents to help him for another 10 years. He still need to protection from the big boys. In May 2005, Perodua was about the show Malaysia his best work so far...codename Myvi. Proton, being jealous...quickly came up with an unprofessional remark about Perodua's work and show his work at the same time as Perodua on purpose.

The future of Malaysia and her two kids are still unknown. But it would be obvious that Perodua will shine, leaving Proton crying. It would be a wonder if in 2015, Proton will ask Malaysia for another 10 years of help and protection...maybe this time... protection from Perodua as well........

What's up lately...

Day out cycling again...

Not working today...but gg NUS to pass a letter to the Dept of Chem and then meet Cailing for lunch at AH...yay...haven't seen her for sooooo long!!!

Decided to cycle instead of taking the bus!!!

Started off at 9.30am after some ang gu kuai for breakfast...yummy!! Headed towards Whitley Rd, via Jln Bahagia, Balestier and Thomson Rd...had to cycled along PIE for a short distance to get from CJ to SJI...so dangerous...luckily there's a pretty wide shoulder ;) From Whitley Rd I turned into Bukit Timah Rd, then Farrer Rd, then Holland Rd, then South Buona Vista, and finally into Lower Kent Ridge Rd...Checkpoint 1...time check...10.30am...hmm that's how long I take to get to NUS if I take the bus!!!

Passed the letter to Dept of Chem...then off I go towards Clementi Rd...stopped at the 7-Eleven at Fong Seng to buy a bottle of isotonic drink ;) After I'm all charged up, I realized I'm too early for my lunch appointment with Ms Pay...it's only 11 plus and I'm meeting her at 2pm...how how?...hmm...just cycle to Queensway and kill time there?

Anyway, I turned into Pasir Panjang Rd...where I got a call from Unity HQ...wah...of all time when I was out cycling...hmm...I needed to fax a copy of my NRIC to them...well...where can I find a photocopier and a fax machine...SGH of course...can go there and chit chat somemore since I have so much time to kill...hehe...

So I cycled along Pasir Panjang Rd, turned into Alexandra Rd, then Bukit Merah Rd...and I'm at SGH...Checkpoint 2...time check...12 noon!!! Parked my bike at houseman canteen, and met Xiao Peiling on the way to buy her lunch...we walked back to Blk 1 together...faxed my IC, chit chatted at the pantry and oh ya...gave HR a call since I have yet to receive my last pay from SGH since I finished my pre-reg on the 16 MAY!!! They claim din know whether I'm still with SGH or not...and they din even call me to find out!!! Now they need to settle some tax clearance stuff b4 I can get my pay in abt a month's time...oh man...

Anyway, at abt 1.20pm I headed back to AH via Bukit Merah Rd...Checkpoint 3...time check...1.40pm...I'm early...shall sit at the empty pharmacy waiting area...yes..it was EMPTY...when is it ever empty at SGH...after 7pm??!! Read the Strait Times while waiting for Cailing...finally at abt 2.15pm we headed to IKEA for lunch...had my favorite Swedish meatball...and a good chat with Ms Pay ;)

After lunch, I headed back towards the East...gg to SPC to pick up the water bottle I left there last Sat...and b4 that...to Kallang SSC to pick up some goodies for volunteering in the recent Speedurance ;) Cycled along Alexandra Rd, Ganges Ave, Havelock Rd, then along the promenade at Singapore River, then the Marina Promenade...and it's Kallang SSC...after that it's along Kallang Riverside Park to Sims Ave, then Paya Lebar Rd...and it's SPC...Checkpoint 4...time check...4.30pm...wow...I'm out for 7 hours liao!!!

Picked up my water bottle and I'm headed back home...via Geylang Rd, Aljunied Rd, Macpherson Rd...and back at Serangoon and St Michael's Rd...final checkpoint...time check 5.30pm!!!

So all in all I was out for 8 hours...abt half the time spent cycling on the road...phew!!! Wonder wat's the distance I covered...maybe it's time to get a speedometer ;)

Now I'm having my yummy Jap curry and rice I cooked yesterday...Bon Apetite!!!

Underwater Hockey

Check out this article on Straits Times yesterday...sounds fun...maybe I should go try it out ;)

Hockey with fins

Dive right into the world of underwater hockey, a game which hinges on how long playerscan hold their breath

By Ng Mei Yan

IT IS hockey with a difference.

PLAYERS ARE TOGGED OUT IN SWIMWEAR, SNORKELS, FINS AND GLOVES and the hockey sticks are a mere 0.3m long. Besides, there are no risks of falling or knocking against a hard surface. -- JOEY CARPIO

Players do not don jerseys and helmets. Instead, they are decked out in swimwear, snorkels, masks, fins and gloves.

The hockey sticks are only one foot (0.3m) long and the metal puck weighs about 1.5kg.

Check out underwater hockey, the latest aquatic activity to hit Singapore.

The sport has taken off, thanks to Filipinos Joey Carpio, a 36-year-old retail consultant, and Christine Alindada, a 24-year-old banker, as well as Australian geologist Greg Bush, 37. Mr Carpio and Mr Bush used to represent their countries in global competitions.

By e-mail, leaving messages on the Fins- Online forum for divers and word-of-mouth, they held a game for the local community.

ORIGINS OF THE GAME

A GROUP of British divers created underwater hockey in the 1950s to maintain their physical strength during the non-diving winter season.

There were eight players on each team, two of whom were substitutes, prompting the creators to call each team an octopus. The stick which was used to move the puck around was known as the pusher.

Together, the game became known as 'octopush'. Back then, snorkels could not be used.

Today, underwater hockey is played in a 25m by 15m pool, between 2m and 3.5m deep, with six members on each side and four substitutes. Armed with a 0.3m-long wooden stick, each team tries to score goals by pushing a 1.5kg metal puck into a long trough at the end of the playing field.

About 30 countries have picked up the sport, including Australia, the United States, New Zealand, The Philippines and Belgium. The sport's most revered competition is the Underwater Hockey World Championships, held once every two years.

'We wanted to do it because we love the sport and we long to keep practising it to keep fit,' said Mr Carpio.

Their first session, held last August, attracted 16 people, most of whom were fin-swimmers from the Singapore Underwater Federation (SUF) or diving enthusiasts.

Some had played the sport before or seen it on TV but many had never heard of the game.

With help from the SUF, Mr Carpio, Ms Alindada and Mr Bush secured the Queenstown Swimming Complex as a training venue.

There are now about 40 active members. Practices are held on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Ms Alice Chong, a 29-year-old accountant, is one fan who has hardly missed a training session since she started last September.

'It is fun, it is challenging and it's new, so everyone starts at the same level and people of all ages can come in to try it out,' she said.

Engineer Twang Say Koon, 46, said: 'The game tests your endurance and how long you can hold your breath, but the thrilling part is in scoring goals.'

He was accompanied by his two sons, Darryl, 17, and Jerryl, 11, who is the youngest player. 'It is also like a family gathering for us,' Mr Twang said.

The members come from 10 countries, including Singapore, Australia, the Philippines, the United States and South Africa.

'It is a great learning experience because we learn how they play the game in different countries,' said Ms Chong. 'After the game, we would...introduce them to our local food.'

'For the most part, we get along very well even if we may have different opinions on things,' said US aviation consultant Kim Wolfley, 47, the oldest member in the club.

So what is most difficult about playing underwater hockey?

'Imagine running at top speed across a football field and holding your breath. Now imagine doing it underwater,' said Mr Carpio.

Another challenging aspect is the three-dimensional playing area.

'In the water, other players can come from the front, behind, left, right, top and bottom. You get attacked from all directions,' he said.

Communicating with teammates during the game can also prove tricky. That is when constant practice comes in handy.

IT IS A CHALLENGE to play in the three-dimensional aquatic zone, where other players can attack from the front, back, left, right, top and bottom.

'Then you'll know your players well and when they're going to need you,' he said.

Though underwater hockey is a strictly non-contact sport, injury is inevitable.

'I suffered bruises here and there because I sometimes positioned myself right behind a player who suddenly dived,' said Ms Chong.

'But in this sport, unlike football or basketball, we don't have the risk of falling. There is no hard surface which you may knock against,' she added.

However, not everyone takes to the game.

'It is very important that you are comfortable in the water, so naturally, swimmers, divers and leisure swimmers enjoy it more,' said Mr Carpio. 'If you come regularly, you will not only improve in hockey but also in swimming and overall cardio health.

'And a lot of people get hooked on it.'

The Singapore Underwater Hockey Club trains at the Queenstown Swimming Complex every Tuesday and Friday from 7.30pm to 9pm. Call Mr Joey Carpio on 9742-3553 for enquiries.

Life as a locum pharmacist...

I have been working at Unity for almost a month now...and it's been great so far...not working much this 2 weeks though..

So what do I enjoy most working as a locum pharmacist at Unity?

1) Not much responsibility as I'm not the outlet manager...dun need to order medicine, prepare duty roster for the staff, count money etc etc etc. All I need to do is dispense medicine and be there to advise customers whenever necessary ;) Of course I'll try to help boost the outlet's sales as far as possible ;p

2) I get to explore Singapore...so far all the outlets I have worked at are places I have never been too!!! except RFC (Raffles City)...Now I can say I have been to...

i) WL8 (Woodlands 888...the very peaceful outlet),
ii) BMC (Bukit Merah Central...had lunch at the hawker center there once b4 but never knew there's an NTUC Fairprice there...wat more a NTUC pharmacy?),
iii) SPC (Singapore Post Center...the futuristic building that seems out of place),
iv) TSP (Thomson Plaza...I haven't been there before...met my long time lab partner, Ah Seng, working at Guardian), and finally
v) WCC (Woodlands Civic Center...had a hard time finding the pharmacy initially...ended up at the basement of the National Libary...oh man...luckily I was early...anyway, I found the NTUC Fairprice next to a carpark at the basement!!!...no wonder it's another peaceful outlet)

Soon I'll also get to visit...

i) GWC (Great World City...been there b4 lah...but looking for to meet Woei Lee for dinner since he's working there too...oh...and I'll be there on their CP day...first time I'm working on a CP day...hopefully it won't be too busy)
ii) BDK (Bedok...it's at Bedok North St 21)
iii) RMA (Rivervale Mall...wonder if it's a busy outlet...the pharmacist there seems to be sending out email to ask for things quite frequently)

3) They have broadband there...unlike some other pharmacies...hehe...I can actually surf the net for information...I'm not stuck with ref books only ;p ...if not, confirm die one...with all the weird questions customers ask...and of course, I get to surf net and check mail occasionally when I'm free!!!

And what I dislike about working as a locum at Unity...

1) Short lunch break...half an hour only??? Gotta eat nearby and eat fast...can't really meet frens or explore the place during lunch...

2) Not really working much...like last week...I only worked 3 days...this week is the same thing...not working much means not earning much...and on days I dun work...I prob end up spending money somewhere...like buying a $500 bike!!! Oh well...I'm gg start studying again soon...might as well enjoy all this free time ;)

So do u wanna be a locum pharmacist?

World Harmony Run 2005

Wow...woke up at 6am today to an ominous dark sky with thunders and lightnings...thank god it's not raining anymore...

Cycled to MacRitchie at abt 6.30am...there was already plenty of ppl there when I reached at abt 7am...got myself registered and deposited my bike and stuff with the organizers...then hanged ard waiting for the race to begin...I have a bad habit of not doing a proper warm before any exercise...but I usually start slow anyway ;)

Saw Sukaimi aka The Lonely Runner all ready to run his 30k...hehe...went over to talk to him and met some of his friends...oops...can't remember their names...jialat ;p
Do check out The Lonely Runner's blog...it full of running stuff ;)

At abt 7.30am, the GOH, Eunice Olsen, ex-KentRidgean...woohoo...arrived, she gave a short speech, lit the touch, made a wish, passed on the touch to the first runner....and off we go!!!

We ran the usual x-country 4.8km route...I took abt half an hour to finish the run...forgot to time myself...so dunno wat's my exact timing..sighz..
Come to think of it...dun remember seeing the torch coming back...oh well...the torch din go thru the whole route as we din want to start a forest fire at MacRitchie...it skipped the trail...

After the run, I went to see the Unity Nature Walk ppl coming out of the trail...then it's time to rush back...gotta work at 10am!!!

Got to work a bit late thanx to Murphy's Law...had to wait 10 mins for the bus when I usually dun need to wait at all...I could take 3 buses from that stop...but all the other buses have to pass by first b4 the buses I can take comes by...one after another...isn't that great!!!

Anyway, the shop is quite peaceful today...Singapore Post Center usually serve working ppl...so it's quite expected ;) I had a script today though...but the customer nearly walked out without paying...thank god the PA got him back in time...the drug cost $87!!! Phew...

Tonight I'll be gg night cycling with a couple of friends...with my new bike...I'm so excited!!!

Wake up to the dangers of sleep deprivation

Check out this article from ST forum...in summary...it's good to be a pig...as long as u dun over do it...hehe ;p

I READ with concern the special report, 'Multi-tasking teens: Good or bad?' (ST, June 4), which drew attention to the hectic lives of busy teenagers, who cram multiple activities into their waking hours by sacrificing sleep.

Chronic lack of sleep is so common in today's fast-paced and competitive society that it is virtually considered normal.

Some people even take pride in 'thriving' on very few hours of sleep, even though human sleep deprivation studies have shown that lack of sleep significantly decreases alertness, causes mood disturbances, impairs performance and leads to abnormal brain function.

The strategy of short-changing ourselves on sleep in order to achieve more in a 24-hour day is a popular one, but also one with diminishing returns at best, and serious health effects at worst.

As one who has survived the rigours of our local education system, medical school, housemanship and a profession with sleep deprivation built into a system of night calls, I speak not only from personal experience, but also from my professional encounters as a physician trained in sleep medicine.

With so much learnt about sleep deprivation in recent decades, today's adolescents should not have to suffer in the same way.

Although exactly how much we need to sleep and even why we sleep are not well understood, human sleep deprivation studies have consistently shown that chronic lack of sleep has significant impact on the brain, causing problems in alertness, thinking clearly and performance.

Sleep loss especially affects performance in tasks requiring attention, vigilance and reaction time. So although we think we are productively spending more time on work or studies and sacrificing sleep, we do so at sub-optimal levels of functioning, rather than peak performance.

It is little known that two of the greatest tragedies in recent memory - the Exxon Valdez oil spill and the Challenger space shuttle explosion - were mainly the result of human error arising from severe sleep deprivation.

Besides such major catastrophes, accidents due to falling asleep at the wheel are all too common.

Studies have shown that lack of sleep causes impairment comparable to that resulting from alcohol intoxication.

Driving while drowsy kills, and in the United States, young drivers aged 25 or under are involved in more than 50 per cent of crashes related to falling asleep at the wheel. In 2003, New Jersey became the first US state to make it illegal to drive while impaired by lack of sleep.

How much sleep we need varies with age, though most experts agree that there is a normal range of about six to 10 hours for adults. Infants, children and teenagers need much more sleep.

Adolescents in the 'multi-tasking teen' age group need at least 8 1/2 to nine hours of sleep for optimal physical and mental health.

This age group is particularly at risk of insufficient sleep as their body clocks are naturally inclined to later sleep onset times, yet have to adjust to early wake times for school.

Sleep is a time for rest and repair. Lack of sleep can result in difficulty waking in the morning, falling asleep in class, poor concentration, increased risk of accidental injuries, irritability and depression.

Research has shown sleep deprivation to be associated with fatigue, poorer academic performance, emotional problems and attention deficit disorder. Large epidemiological surveys have even shown that there is an increased mortality risk for those who sleep less than four hours a night.

Chronic sleep deprivation is a silent epidemic with significant negative impact that needs to be recognised. Good sleep is a vital part of physical and mental health, just like good nutrition and regular exercise.

Everyone should learn some basic good sleep habits: regular sleep-wake times, getting enough sleep, and avoiding excessive use of caffeine as a stimulant, or relying too much on sedatives. We all need to learn to adopt a 'sleep-smart' lifestyle that suits our busy schedules, one that facilitates rather than detracts from peak performance.

People with significant sleep-related problems such as insomnia, abnormal daytime sleepiness, or longstanding inability to sleep without sedatives should seek medical attention.

Although sleep medicine is a relatively new medical sub-speciality, sleep clinic and laboratory services are now available in many local public and private hospitals.

While industry, discipline and productivity are laudable, characterising an adolescent who gets by on an unhealthy three to four hours of sleep a night as a 'super teen' sends the wrong message, and reinforces the fallacy that sleep is dispensable and a waste of time for the efficient.

It is time to wake up to the fact that chronic lack of sleep is harmful to your health, and even fatal if you drive while sleep-deprived.

Adventure Trail Challenge

Wow! I'm so tired now...

Had a great time at the Adventure Trail Challenge at MacRitchie today!!!

Woke early again...seems like I wake up earlier on days I dun work...hmmm...
Took a bus to MacRitchie since my bike has been deposited there yesterday...
When I was arriving at MacRitchie, it started raining heavily...oh man...
Anyway, when the rain got less heavy I started running to Carpark B where we're supposed to report...after reporting, Jon (my partner) and I...team Penguin...had our gear checked, body marked and changed into the event singlet...then we packed our extra gears and left it with the organizers...

Team Penguin's personalized iWorks card...cool rite...and mascot ;)

The race started half an hour late due to the rain...
We started off the running leg near the zig zag bridge...we ran along the "Hydrapak" marked trail...south of the reservoir...through SICC...towards Bukit Timah Hill...
Check point 1 was at the top of a 4-5 storey structure!!!

Started the cycling route at Rifles Range Rd (Check point 2) which was very hilly...thank god Jon and I went for the Raleigh Hill Challenge recently...
We cycled towards the cycling trail around Bukit Timah Hill (Check point 3,4)...then back to Rifles Range Rd (Check point 5...yay..we made it for the cut off) where we dropped off our bikes and started on foot again...this time walking most of the time..hehe...since we won't be cut off anymore...

We walked (occasionally jogged) back towards MacRitchie Reservoir via a different trail...north of the reservoir..

Our kayaking leg (Check point 6) was, fortunately, a short one around MacRitchie Reservoir...neverthelessmy arms were so tired from the Sea sports camp...occasionally, Jon had to row alone...hehe..

After that we ran out along Thomson Rd and Upper Thomson Rd towards Bishan Fire Station for our abseiling leg (Check point 7)!!!

Then it was backed to MacRitchie carpark B...the end point...where we were greeted by the DJ...Nicholas Tay...how in the world did u end up deejaying for this event!!??? Oh well...it's always nice to meet another Kentridgean ;)

Deejay Nick who kept insisting that unauthorized photography is not allowed...

Ex-Kentridgeans...Jayce, Nick and I ;)

After that, we picked up our belongings, certs and goodie bags...rested for a while...had lunch...yes... a small buffet lunch was provided...cool ;) then, Jon's dad came to pick us up...thank god I dun have to cycle home!!

Phew...what an exciting day!!!

Sea sports camp 2005

Back from the sea sports camp at PA East Coast Sea Sports Club!!! with my exposed skin nicely barbequed to a nice tan brown ;) and all the little muscles on my arms aching so much I had a hard time opening a canned drink!!!

The camp was fun though!!

Except that it was a bit boring on the first day...for my group...
Started with some crappy ice breaker games...had lunch...then took a bus to West Coast for our sailing session...but guess what...it's at the Republic of Singapore Yacht Club so we had to go in in groups while the rest wait at the park outside!!! Anyway, we ended up in McDonalds for a drink...then some of us (Patricia, Charissa, Dawn and I) decided to go play at the playground...which was filled with kids...hehe...dun care...just push them aside ;p

At the playground...(clockwise)
Charissa pushing Patricia on the swing...hehe..dun care abt the kids
Me on the swing...check out the no. of kids ard us
Dawn on the pyramid...taken from the top of the pyramid ;)
Charissa on the sliding thing...feels like on a skate board

After that, we joined the others for a game of ultimate frisbee...the "darks" totally beat the "lights"!!!
When it was finally my groups (4th grp out of 5) turn to sail, we went in and spent only abt 45 mins in the water...sighz...at least we had a nice shower at their changing room ;)
That night we had plenty of chill out time with nothing much to do, other than playing twister...a number of us ended up squeezing in a van to McDonald's...

Twister wrestling?? Charissa and I trying to get each other out of the mat...

Check out how we squeezed abt 12 ppl and a penguin at the back of the van to get to McDonald's

Supper at McDonald's...

Where I slept...nice and comfortable ;)

Day 2 was great!!! Had our wakeboarding and windsurfing session :)
Woke up early to get to Punggol Marina for our wakeboarding session...slept throughout the bus ride there...
We're split into groups of 5 to an instructor and we took a powerboat out...
I was the first person to try out...had a hard time standing up on the board...my arm was so nua after that...
Only Wenjie managed to wakeboard during the first round...he's good...he even waved to us ;)
The second round was much better...most of us managed to wakeboard for some time...yay ;)

Me wakeboarding...(clockwise)
Getting into the water with the wakeboard on
Simulating how I shld get out of the water when the powerboat moves
Trying to get up...still in the squatting position
I'm up...not a good shot...but the only taken with me standing up

Wenjie wakeboarding with one hand...waving with the other!!!

Alvin...our instructor...showing us a trick ;)

After wakeboarding we went back to ECP, had lunch, then it was our windsurfing session...we're split into 2 grps where one of the grp just chilled out first...most of us just slept ;)
Windsurfing was difficult...esp when it was a windy as it was that day!!! Most of us only managed to stand on the board in the surfing position...with the help of the instructor!!! Oh well...maybe I shall try again next time...

Me trying to stand on the surf board...the wind was so strong, the rig felt super heavy!!! Luckily, Adrian, our instructor, is there to help ;)

Cycled all the way from ECP back to my place at 10 plus at night...took slightly more than an hour...I'm now ready for ATC...hehe ;)

Withdrawal...

Suffering from withdrawal symptoms due to the absence of my comp...lent it to a fren for the week...

Luckily I still get to use my housemate's Mac...but no comp in my room!!! How??? Can't use the comp and let the tv watch me anymore...

Wat shld i do without a comp? Read a book, watch tv (instead of the tv watching me!!), go cycle or swim or something...hmm...actually there are plenty of things to do...just that I'm a computer addict...a result of hall life!!

Oh well...I'm gg for a sea sports camp this wed till fri...looks like I won't need the comp then ;)

Oh rite!! I'm missing Independence Day on tv today...shld have brought a tv to work...I can still serve the customers during the commercial breaks *grinz*
